Queen Tribute Bar
Queen Tribute BarÂ
A tribute to the late great Freddy Mercury, this bold bar design is the work of London based illustrator Nichola Cowdery, who has a bold colourful style (and a quirky sense of humour) which we adore. We’re huge fans of Freddy at Quirky and have even names one of our chocolate trolleys after him (our other trolley is called Elton).Â
One of our favourite Queen videos is I Want To Break Free, which features the band cross dressing as a parody of Coronation Street. This went down well in the UK, who are quite used to pantomime dames, but not so well in the USA who didn’t quite know what to make of it! The second part of the video was performed by the Royal Ballet no less. Released in 1984, and a hit in Europe and South America, it became widely regarded as an anthem against oppression.
Quirky has joined forces with brilliant London-based designer and illustrator Nichola Cowdery to bring you her fabulous artwork in chocolate form. Nichola Cowdery LOVES creating cute, weird and wonderful designs for the special people in your life.
